DartForge Autonomous Systems Private Limited is an Indian deep-tech startup focused on developing indigenous autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, robotics, unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), counter-UAS technologies and advanced software solutions for defence, homeland security and industrial applications. Problem Statement The rapid growth in drone adoption has created significant security and operational challenges. Existing counter-drone solutions are often expensive, platform-specific, imported, or designed for limited use cases. There is a growing need for indigenous, scalable and cost-effective autonomous technologies that can safely respond to emerging aerial threats while supporting India's vision of technological self-reliance. Solution DartForge is developing a portfolio of intelligent autonomous systems designed to enhance situational awareness, autonomous operations and safe aerial threat response. The company's initial flagship solution addresses the challenge of controlled drone interception using coordinated autonomous aerial systems. The underlying technology platform is intended to support multiple future applications across defence, homeland security, industrial inspection and critical infrastructure protection. Business Approach The company is building proprietary intellectual property and a modular technology platform that combines autonomous software, AI-enabled decision support, simulation capabilities and specialized hardware integration. This platform approach enables multiple products and solutions to be developed from a common technology foundation while reducing future development costs and time-to-market. Current Status DartForge was incorporated in June 2026 as a Private Limited Company. The company has completed its foundational corporate setup, including incorporation, banking, statutory governance and MSME (Udyam) registration. The company is DPIIT Recognized. The company has also initiated its intellectual property strategy, including filing of its first provisional patent and trademark registration. The project is currently at the early prototype and technology validation stage (approximately TRL 2-3). Core system architecture has been defined, software development and simulation activities are underway, and component evaluation is in progress. Next Steps The immediate objectives are to: • Develop an integrated proof-of-concept. • Complete laboratory and simulation-based validation. • Progress to controlled field demonstrations. • Expand the intellectual property portfolio. • Establish strategic collaborations with research institutions, defence organizations and industry partners. Funding Requirement DartForge is seeking pre-seed and seed funding, government grants and incubation support to accelerate research and development, prototype realization, testing, certification and commercialization. The funding will primarily be utilized for engineering talent, prototype development, specialized equipment, software tools, testing infrastructure and intellectual property creation, enabling the company to advance towards higher Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and market readiness.
