Coozie is a screen-free AI voice companion toy for Indian children aged 3 to 12, built by KnowNest Innovations LLP. Indian parents have no real alternative to screens, so phones and tablets have become the default companion for children, raising concerns about attention, language development, and passive consumption. The few AI toys available today are Western imports: English-only, priced for foreign markets, and engineered to maximise engagement time. Coozie solves this. A child speaks to it naturally in English or Hindi, and it responds in real time through an integrated pipeline of speech recognition, a conversational AI engine, and natural voice output. The intelligence is age-adaptive, so vocabulary, tone, and depth adjust to the child's age and stage, letting one device grow with the child from 3 to 12. Coozie is designed to guide a child toward answers through questions and reasoning rather than simply providing them. A companion app gives parents consent-first controls and visibility into their child's conversation themes, mood, and usage. The product is sold as a device with the core companion included, plus an optional subscription for higher usage and extra features. A working prototype exists, tried by 20+ parents and children, with a 100-unit paid pilot planned for 2026. India, with over 235 million children in this age range, has no screen-free, voice-first companion built for its own children, and Coozie is building for that gap.
