We developed "Lab in a Box," a fully integrated, cartridge-based molecular diagnostic platform that enables rapid, automated, and accurate RT-PCR testing at the point of care. The system combines sample collection, nucleic acid extraction, amplification, detection, and automated result interpretation within a single compact device, eliminating the need for complex laboratory infrastructure and highly skilled personnel. The platform is designed to address the growing demand for affordable and decentralized molecular diagnostics in hospitals, private diagnostic laboratories, diagnostic chains, district hospitals, medical colleges, and public health screening programs. Initially, HITS is focusing on infectious disease testing, including Tuberculosis (TB), Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and multiplex fever panels, with future expansion into oncology and precision medicine diagnostics. Our business follows a razor-and-blade model, where customers purchase or lease the diagnostic instrument while generating recurring revenue through the sale of proprietary disposable cartridges. Each machine performs up to eight tests per day, creating a sustainable, high-margin recurring revenue stream while significantly reducing diagnostic turnaround time to approximately two hours. The technology integrates precision fluid handling, automated thermal cycling, IoT-enabled monitoring, and multiplex real-time PCR to deliver laboratory-grade accuracy in decentralized settings. By making molecular diagnostics faster, more affordable, and accessible, HITS aims to strengthen disease surveillance, improve early diagnosis, and access to high-quality diagnostic testing across urban and rural healthcare systems.
