Shramik Rojgar Private Limited is a WorkTech platform that formalises India's informal daily-wage construction workforce. The sector employs over 50 million workers — masons, plumbers, electricians, painters, carpenters, rebar benders — almost none of whom hold verifiable proof of identity, skill, or work history. Hiring happens at roadside labour chowks each morning, wages are paid at the contractor's discretion, and a worker's experience disappears the moment a project ends. Shramik builds the missing infrastructure layer on both sides of that transaction. For workers, we provide a verified digital worker identity, skill certification mapped to recognised standards, escrow-backed wage protection, and direct job matching. Critically, onboarding runs through IVR and missed-call flows rather than an app — the platform assumes low literacy and a feature phone, which is what the workforce actually holds. For contractors, developers, and infrastructure firms, we solve a procurement problem: sourcing verified, skill-matched labour at scale without relying on informal middlemen, while generating the documentation trail required for BOCW compliance and statutory labour audits. Revenue is generated through placement and subscription fees charged to the demand side — contractors and developers — alongside skill certification and training services delivered through government scheme empanelment routes including PMKVY 4.0, DDU-GKY, and BOCW welfare boards. Workers are never charged. The business is operational, not conceptual. We have onboarded over 10,000 workers, completed 264 structured field interviews at Delhi NCR labour chowks using KoboToolbox/ODK to ground the product in observed hiring behaviour, and hold a pilot-ready cohort of 360 candidates against a BSDM subcontract reference. Training infrastructure is available through an affiliated 12A/80G-registered trust with an existing centre in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The long-term outcome is a portable, verifiable work record for every construction worker in India — the foundation for credit access, social security enrolment, and fair wages.
