Mushroom Kothi by VKS AGRITECH is a smart, modular, and affordable environmental chamber designed for small-scale mushroom cultivation and perishable storage. Built using IoT and sensor-based climate control, the Kothi enables precise regulation of temperature, humidity, and air quality β solving a critical challenge for farmers in regions where mushroom farming is otherwise unfeasible due to extreme weather. Our unique 10x10 ft prototype has been tested in 3β4 village locations in Prayagraj, demonstrating early success in mushroom yield and environmental performance. What makes Mushroom Kothi commercially scalable is its multi-utility: it can also serve as low-cost cold storage for vegetables like tomatoes, greens, and seasonal fruits in summer months β making it useful for small vegetable vendors, SHGs, and agri-entrepreneurs. Supported by AWaDH IIT Ropar (an Agriculture & Water Development iHub) and recognized in seed stage programs, we are now seeking commercialization funding to finalize product design, pilot manufacturing, and build supply linkages.
