Agrichikitsa is developing Agristick, an innovative and affordable precision-farming device designed to help farmers make timely and accurate decisions on pest control, disease prevention, irrigation, and bird management. Today, most small and marginal farmers rely on guesswork, delayed observations, or manual methods, which often lead to losses in crop yield and higher input costs. Agristick addresses this gap by integrating multiple technologies into a single, easy-to-use field device. The Agristick prototype combines UV light traps, yellow pan traps, and an advanced dichromatic LED sticky trap to attract and capture different types of harmful insects during day and night. It also includes a pheromone trap accommodation module, enabling future expansion for species-specific pest monitoring. Along with pest management, the device is equipped with soil-moisture and leaf-wetness sensors, which generate real-time information on irrigation needs and disease-conducive conditions. A small IoT controller, powered by a solar-based system, collects this data and transmits it to the Agrichikitsa mobile application, where farmers receive simple, actionable advisories in user-friendly language. At present, Agristick is in the prototype development stage. We have validated the core concept, assembled a working prototype, and conducted early testing to check its functionality in real farm conditions. The upcoming stages involve improving calibration accuracy, strengthening hardware durability, optimizing power consumption, and enabling seamless data transmission under diverse agro-climatic conditions. With support from Start-in-UP, we aim to refine this prototype into a production-ready model that can be manufactured at scale. Our long-term vision is to make Agristick a reliable, low-cost precision-agriculture tool that empowers farmers with real-time intelligence, reduces crop losses, minimizes chemical dependency, and contributes to sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
