The endoscope are tubular devices and these are required in different shape, sizes and consistency like flexible, rigid to suit different needs of the specialties. Traditional endoscopes used solid rod lens or fibre optic technology which requires light source, image processor, camera, and dedicated monitors which makes these devices bulky and costly. There are video endoscopes available by some manufacturer but these also require image processor, and dedicated monitor and light source. We have designed video endoscope which can be used with smartphone and an app will process the image and will show it on the screen of smartphone or tablet. The image or video can be recorded on phone and will not require any dedicated recorder. As no light source, image processor, recorder and monitor is required, the device is very light weight, handy, portable and economical. These type of endoscopes can be used as a point of care devices for diagnosis and treatment of different organ system diseases as well as for telemedicine. The Indian endoscope device market is fragmented. There is no manufacturer in India, and we are totally dependent on the import of these devices and bound to spend a lot of money for import .Majority of the global players have their presence in India as partnership, subsidiary, or third party distribution . Alternate to the import .Tremendous potential for export. No company is manufacturing smartphone compatible endoscopes. We will approach the probable customers by holding demonstrations and hands on workshops in state, National and International conferences and trade fairs.
