Company Overview Affordable imaging products for medical and scientific imaging and vision applications Problem Image analysis systems (in fields of microscopy, endoscopy, electrophoresis, chromatography, forensics), have dedicated instruments. Setting up a lab requires a separate instrument for each application. This increases the capital expenditure. Solution We have developed imaging products that can be used in multiple applications by using the same hardware but different software since the basic building blocks are same – hardware (camera) + software. Total instrument ownership cost across applications decreases. Description of Need Setting up medical testing and research labs require initial investments in terms of lab and medical instruments. Often some of these instruments are similar in terms of working principle and hardware, but have to be bought separately. For example, in digital microscopy apart from the microscope, a camera is also needed. This camera fixes on the microscope, captures images which are then analysed with software. Similarly, a microbiological sample in a petri dish is captured using a camera and analysed further for antibiotic sensitivity. Hardware is the same, but based on what is being analysed - software is different. Technology Since hardware is almost the same - camera and lens, we have designed the product such that the instrument remains the same, but the software is different for different applications. Using the same example above, our instrument use same camera and illumination system for capturing microscope images, as well as capturing images of microbiological petri dishes for antibiotic sensitivity. This helps in reducing the cost of setting up a lab. Defensibility We have initiated documentation for filing patent of an advanced version of the above product using a lower-cost, yet more sensitive imaging sensor. Certifications We are ISO certified and certified for Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC. Competition Imaging Systems manufacturers – Zeiss, Leica, Nikon (microscope), Bio-Rad (electrophoresis), Camag (chromatograms). Business Model B2G: GeM, Tenders B2B: Direct mailers, exhibitions, online marketing, website. OEM: OEM for larger pharma companies with established sales channels. International Progress We have supplied systems to medtech, biotech companies in Belgium, Israel, Romania. Partnering with Uttar Pradesh We are making in Uttar Pradesh, for India. Our products can significantly reduce reliance on imported products since almost all domestic suppliers are importers mainly. We are selling systems that are 40% the cost of imported systems thus offering affordable instruments that can help in wider deployment and contribute to Uttar Pradesh's healthcare system.
