Introduction: Shivamorphosis Pvt. Ltd. is an innovation-driven startup operating in the field of environmental sustainability, public art, and social awareness. Our core objective is to transform discarded scrap metal into impactful, message-driven sculptures that not only enhance the beauty of spaces but also inspire meaningful conversations in society. By blending traditional sculpting techniques with modern environmental values, we bridge the gap between waste management and public education, making our business model both purposeful and scalable. Background and Inspiration: The concept of Shivamorphosis was envisioned by our founder, a visual arts expert with deep sensitivity towards the environment. They observed that massive amounts of industrial waste, particularly scrap metal, either end up in landfills or are recycled through energy-intensive methods. Traditional processes not only consume heavy energy but also emit toxic gases and destroy the originality of the scrap. In search of a solution, a model was developed that reduces environmental damage while presenting cultural and ecological values through art. Our early prototypes and sculptures—made from gears, chains, rods, and metal plates—have already been showcased in various exhibitions, institutions, and public parks. These artworks depict endangered wildlife, Indian heritage, organ donation, tobacco awareness, and women's health issues. The positive public response validated our model and inspired us to evolve it into a structured and impact-based business. Problem Statement: The scrap metal management system in India is largely informal and environmentally unsustainable. Major issues include: High energy requirement in traditional recycling (melting, molding) Toxic emissions causing air and soil pollution Health hazards for workers in informal recycling units Loss of original identity and cultural utility of scrap Lack of public awareness and visual mediums of engagement While digital campaigns are prevalent, physical, permanent public artworks that educate and inspire are rare. Shivamorphosis fills this gap through creative sculptures. Business Model: Shivamorphosis operates at the intersection of environmental innovation, art, and public engagement. Our model is divided into three main sectors: B2G (Government Sector): We design and install large-scale sculptures for municipal bodies, smart city projects, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and awareness campaigns. B2B (Corporate Sector): We collaborate with companies under CSR initiatives to create thematic artworks aligned with their brand values and social goals. B2C (Consumer Sector): We design and sell limited-edition scrap metal decor items for homes, cafes, galleries, and collectors. Revenue sources include project-based commissions, sculpture sales, custom design fees, and institutional partnerships. Innovation and Features: While traditional recycling companies melt scrap into new metal, Shivamorphosis retains its original shape and texture. Our process is entirely pollution-free—no melting, no emissions—just creative upcycling. Each sculpture tells a story: a lion made from motorcycle chains symbolizes strength and conservation; a butterfly made from fan blades and wires symbolizes transformation and hope. This dual innovation—environmental and artistic—makes us unique in both sustainability and creativity sectors. Market Potential: India generates over 26 million tonnes of scrap metal annually, most of which is either informally recycled or wasted. Meanwhile, public art demand is rising due to government initiatives like smart cities, Swachh Bharat, and urban beautification. Our target markets include: Urban development, tourism, and environmental departments Corporate CSR teams NGOs and environmental organizations Art galleries, interior designers, hospitality chains Eco-conscious consumers in Tier 1 and 2 cities Impact and Alignment with SDGs: Our work contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production SDG 13: Climate Action SDG 15: Life on Land Additionally: Enhances public education Spreads awareness about endangered species Highlights social and health-related issues Provides employment opportunities to skilled artists and fabricators Achievements So Far: India’s largest scrap metal butterfly sculpture – a B2C public decor project Scrap metal lion sculpture installed at Lucknow Zoo under CSR Largest metal Kalash displayed at UP Diwas – a government event Appreciation from government officials and media Testimonials and certificates from NGOs and institutions Funding Requirements: We currently seek seed capital of ?5 lakhs to: Create new social-awareness-based sculptures Expand workshop and hire skilled labor Invest in marketing and promotion Participate in CSR networking and public exhibitions Future Vision: We aim to establish Shivamorphosis as India’s leading sustainable public art brand.
