First, its smart, inbuilt algorithm provides automatic fall detection, a proactive feature that summons help even if the user is unconscious or unable to react. Second, for conscious emergencies, a large, single-press SOS button is easily accessible. Upon activation by either method, the device instantly makes an emergency call to the mobile phones of pre-configured contacts, enabling a swift and informed response when it matters most. Our Uniqueness and Feasibility: Our solution is built on four core pillars that make it uniquely suited for the Indian market: Elder-Centric Design: We have engineered the device for radical simplicity. It has no screen or complex interface, relying instead on intuitive LED lights and haptic feedback. Its dignified, non-medical aesthetic ensures seniors feel comfortable wearing it daily, which is crucial for consistent protection and high adoption rates. Versatile Wearing Options: To maximize comfort and ensure consistent use, the device is not restricted to the wrist. Its flexible form factor allows it to be worn traditionally as a wristband or be detached and securely hooked onto a belt or clothing on the torso, accommodating different user preferences. Standalone Connectivity (No Phone Needed): The device operates independently and does not require a paired smartphone to function. It connects directly to a home Wi-Fi network to send alerts, making the setup process vastly simpler and ensuring alerts are sent reliably, even if a phone is switched off, out of range, or not owned by the senior.
