India's FWA rollout faces hurdles due to reliance on costly, foreign proprietary tech, leading to high CAPEX/OPEX, vendor lock-in, & cybersecurity risks. This undermines "Make in India" goals, limits flexibility, & restricts innovation & competition in network deployment To address these challenges, Ananant Systems is proposing a highly integrated All-In-One FWA system that brings the cost of the base station down to sub-$3000, which is 7-10x lower cost compared to current systems. The system is also 1/3rd the power of current base stations, which reduces OPEX significantly.The layer 1 solution is powered by Ananant Systems AS200 baseband chipset, which is based on RISC-V based DSP cores. Key attributes of this chipset: Offloads entire layer 1 functionality in software, delivering 10x better Performance/unit Cost/unit Power. Fully programmable to support advanced 5G and 6G open architecture allows for quick innovation and feature upgrade. AI-RAN enabled for better spectrum capacity and range optimization The L2/L3 stack runs on a standard ARM based host CPU, and the software stack comes from vendors such as Radisys/Capgemini, or customer developed stacks from the likes of Mavenir/Parallel Wireless. To develop the platform, Ananant Systems is partnering with multiple system OEMs such as Mavenir, Parallel Wireless, Nokia, Tejas Networks and others. These OEMs will commercialize the system and deliver to carriers such as BSNL, Jio, Airtel, T-Mobile and others. Ananant Systems also plans to develop a reference design that can be provided to ODMs such as VVDN, Sercomm, Airspan and others to develop a broader ecosystem of FWA base station providers. Strategic alignment with Indian OEMs like HFCL, Lekha Wireless, C-DOT, etc. is vital for strengthening India's 5G ecosystem to boost domestic manufacturing, tailor solutions for Indian needs, foster innovation, enhance security & control and support economic growth coupled with job creation. Indian OEMs have demonstrated their technical expertise in 5G, and this strategic engagement promises to enable them for global foray with high-performance cost-effective FWA portfolio.
