Village micro-dealer networks for improving smallholder productivity through quality agricultural inputs. Business model K-Labs is in the business of selling new-age agri inputs ( Mostly biofertilizers, Microbial products for soil regeneration) via micro dealers. We source from manufacturers at specific gross margins. Our costs are dealer margins, logistics, marketing to create pull, and operating costs. The technology that we are building will help us to optimize the operational and logistical costs, as well as train the micro dealers. We aim to build a network of close to 2000 micro dealers serving crop specicific clusters in UP. How it works Central to our business model is the concept of micro-dealers, B2B sourcing, and cost-effective last-mile delivery using a central hub in a cluster. We train micro dealers (a person living in the village) in newer products and methods via in-person training and workshops. A micro dealer, in turn, works with 100 farmers to provide support and do order booking. K-Labs supports micro dealers with hyperlocal marketing, including farmer meetings, demo plots, wall painting,s and digital marketing campaigns. Farmers' training and support material is also available as videos that micro dealers can share with farmer groups. This ensures that farmers receive quality inputs along with an understanding of effective usage. Orders can be booked via a micro dealer, and the K-Labs system will do order batching and deliver the input via milk runs. We are using a cluster model (100 km radius around the central hub) to do cost-effective last-mile delivery.
