StorNuAge is a smart-kitchen venture that turns ordinary storage containers into an intelligent system to cut household food waste and unnecessary grocery spend. Today, most Indian families rely on memory and last-minute checks to manage kitchen stock. This leads to two costly behaviours: (i) items expiring unnoticed at the back of shelves, and (ii) urgent, fee-loaded quick-commerce orders when essentials run out. Our business idea is to replace this guesswork with simple, affordable intelligence inside the containers people already use. We design containers and lids that work with low-cost sensors and a mobile app to track what is stored, how much is left, and how long it has been there. The app alerts users before items go bad, suggests what to use first, and supports meal planning based on what is already at home. It also highlights avoidable spend (wasted items and emergency orders), making the savings visible in rupees each month. Our initial revenue comes from consumer “starter kits” (a small set of smart containers plus hub) and an optional subscription for advanced features such as detailed savings reports and nutrition insights. Over time, the same technology can be extended to B2B customers like cloud kitchens, small retailers and cold-storage operators who need simple, item-level visibility and expiry control.
