The startup aims to develop a Portable Smart Optical Shop Unit that integrates the entire eyewear dispensing workflow into a single compact, technology-enabled system. The objective is to transform traditional optical retail by enabling on-demand, customised, and efficient spectacle manufacturing while significantly reducing the need for large frame inventories. Conventional optical shops typically maintain hundreds or thousands of spectacle frames to provide customers with choices. This model requires high capital investment and often results in unsold inventory, dead stock, and plastic waste. In addition, frame fitting and lens edging rely on skilled technicians, which increases operational complexity and limits scalability. Frames are also usually produced in standard sizes, which may not fit every individual properly. Our solution introduces a portable, integrated optical dispensing unit that combines multiple advanced technologies. The system includes vision testing and refraction, 3D facial scanning to capture facial parameters, virtual frame selection and customization through a digital interface, on-demand frame manufacturing using 3D printing technology, and automated lens edging and fitting. Using facial measurements, frames can be digitally designed to match each customer’s face for improved comfort, aesthetics, and accuracy of fitting. The portable nature of the unit allows deployment in optometry clinics, hospitals, optical retail stores, and mobile eye care units, making it particularly useful for rural and underserved areas where access to optical services is limited. The business model focuses on low or zero frame inventory, digital design, and distributed manufacturing. Revenue will be generated through sale of portable optical shop units, leasing or subscription models for clinics and retailers, software licensing for facial scanning and virtual try-on platforms, supply of 3D printing materials and lenses, and annual maintenance services.
