The proposed solution is an IoT-based Precision Livestock Farming innovation enabling real-time bovine health monitoring through wearable sensors and AI-driven farmer chatbot assistance It is a smart wearable belt worn over the muzzle of cattle and buffalo that continuously monitors health and behavioral parameters using embedded sensors. The device transmits data through LoRaWAN for long-range communication, while Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enables firmware updates and device configuration. The collected data is analyzed using cloud-based analytics and delivered to farmers through a SaaS mobile application for large herders and through WhatsApp for small farmers. The SAAS model will have live chatbot feature, enabling farmers to connect with doctors, or ask questions about any queries related to Bovidae (Cattle and Buffalo). The SAAS model comprise of Muzzle identification module to save the cattle’s identity for information retrieval in case of theft and claim insurance. The system enables early detection of diseases, estrus cycles, and abnormal behavior, improving livestock productivity and reducing losses. Both hardware and software models can be used independently for features like muzzle identification and chatbot. Problem Statement: In India, most farmers rely on manual observation, which is inaccurate (as they are reluctant to reach out for a doctor) and time-consuming in case the cattle is in remote areas. Proposed Solution: The proposed solution offers an IoT-enabled livestock health monitoring system consisting of three integrated components. A. Smart Sensor Belt The wearable belt contains sensors to monitor: Heart rate, SpO? levels, IR body temperature, Activity and motion, Rumination behaviour. These parameters help detect: Fever and infections, Estrus cycle, Reduced feeding activity, Abnormal behaviour. The device operates on a low-power architecture with a replaceable battery lasting up to two years. B. Digital Platform Two user interfaces will be provided: 1. SaaS Platform (Large Farms) Features: Livestock dashboard, Health analytics, Alerts and reports, Herd productivity insights 2. WhatsApp Chatbot (Small Farmers) Features: Easy onboarding, Health alerts, Vet consultation guidance, Disease recommendations and health advisory. 3. Target Customers: (i)Dairy farms (20–500 animals) (ii)Large dairy enterprises (iii)Dairy cooperatives (iv)Veterinary hospitals (v)Government livestock programs Initial target market: Uttar Pradesh, which has the largest bovine population in India. 4. Market Opportunity The livestock population in Uttar Pradesh exceeds 50 million bovine animals, making it one of the largest dairy ecosystems in the world.
